e-gold Shopping Cart Implementation for Macintosh
|
|
This article contains scripts and instructions for implementing the e-gold shopping cart for Macintosh computers. This simple implementation is for purchasing one item at a time, completing the e-gold transaction process and Internet delivery of an electronic file to the customer. This shopping cart interface does not have a "basket" or "cart" where items can be gathered for later processing. We are working on that one.
Benefits:
1) no cgi needed on server
2) instant delivery
3) ease of installation
4) cost effective
5) easily customizable
6) easy to market computer file products (images, documents, sounds, music?)
Downside:
1) person that buys product could email/share product or URL to others
2) a savvy programmer could eventually figure how to predict a particular URL (but this is not worth the effort)
3) requires browser with javascript support (almost everyone is now so equiped)
4) 24 character encryption instead of 32 character (not a big deal) does not (yet) handle products to be shipped (we're working on it)
