That would be an appearance. The actuality is all things respond to the state of our minds or consciousnesses. If we are anxious or stressed all things in our local environments begin to reflect that state back to us. This environmental interaction is a key dynamic in making and operating dynaspheres, for instance. This interaction is not limited to dynaspheres but happens in all things, people and events - we simply fail or refuse to recognize such interactions. When they are recognized by those who've not studied such dynamics such effects are often attributed to "God's Will", happenstance, coincidences, other entities, and other assorted superstitions.
