I've read of this monolith to stupidity before. Whoever commissioned the work refuses to identify themselves so that pretty well tells us what kind of people they are and how much pride they don't have in their own work. A few comments below: THE MESSAGE OF THE GEORGIA GUIDESTONES 1. Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature. How do they propose to eliminate 6,000,000,000 people? Is the creator of this monument going to do the "right thing" and volunteer for elimination? 2. Guide reproduction wisely - improving fitness and diversity. Eugenics? Didn't work in Nazi Germany or communist China but it's still on the agenda? 3. Unite humanity with a living new language. What's wrong with the languages we are using now? 4. Rule passion - faith - tradition - and all things with tempered reason. Rule faith with intellectual reason? Passion yes but faith is faith because it has no 'reason'. That's why it is called faith. 5. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts. There is such a thing as a just court? People don't need protection supplied by some authority. They each need Love in their hearts. 6. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court. The existing World Court has little if any effect already.... 7. Avoid petty laws and useless officials. Like the petty laws on the books now? According to some there is no such thing as a useful official. (It is presumed #7 means "government official".) 8. Balance personal rights with social duties. "Social duties" means compelled performance (slavery) to a state? 9. Prize truth - beauty - love - seeking harmony with the infinite. As "infinite" is not capitalized, please define the term. As it is not defined just what is being referred to here? And who will be doing the defining? 10. Be not a cancer on the earth - Leave room for nature - Leave room for nature. In what kind of sick mind is humanity considered as a cancer? |
