In mathematics the "=" sign means what is on the left is the same as what is on the right. However "As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain; as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality." -- Albert Einstein so much for those who claim if it (a theory) can't be expressed in mathematics it ain't real.... Einstein says if it can be expressed in mathematics then it isn't real. This of course refers to the "normal" or ordinary use of mathematics. There are parts of SVP that can and are expressed in math (not ordinary math). There are other parts beyond linear concepts that cannot be quantified or computed, Love for instance. At first blush something like Love does not appear it can be mathematically defined. It think it can - or at least its effects can be defined but only if we LOOK at those effects. Unfortunately most engineers and mathematicians wouldn't know Love if it was in their face. That leaves us non-mathematicians to piece it together. Take for instance the Law or phenomena of Attraction. There are degrees of attraction up to and including Repulsion, it's opposite, also having degrees. Russell provided a measuring stick for quantifying such non-things (attractive and repulsive motions). He called this ruler "Locked Potentials" which range as 0 -1 -2 -3 -4 +4 +3 +2 +1 0. These discrete quantities are like steps or stages from an Idea of the motion to its highest expression as motion to its complete dissolution - a complete cycle if you will. |
