God said let there be light. So the word of God created the universe which means all the materiality of/in it. So if we study atoms, molecules and similar stuff, as created by God, are we studying the word of God?? Of course, a word from God is an expression from Him just as the material universe is an expression of Him also. So we as scientists (me anyway) study the expressionings of God. The material universe is God's handiwork and I see no sin in studying it and finding ways to put it to service to humanity just like God is/does....
