Do you know the fable about the Rattlesnake and the alligator?Ê
Ê
The Rattlesnake wanted to cross the swamp. He asked the alligator for a ride.Ê
Ê
The alligator said "No man, if I let you on my back you'll bite me and I'll die".Ê
Ê
Rattlesnake said "No dude, I'd not do that. If I killed you then I'd die too".Ê
Ê
They went back and forth a little and then the alligator agreed. The Rattlesnake slithered on the back of the alligator and they headed out.Ê
Ê
About half way over, the Rattlesnake bit the alligator. The alligator, knowing he was dying, looked back and asked "Why'd you do that? Now we're both going to die."Ê
Ê
Rattlesnake said "I couldn't help it. I'm a snake. That's what we do."Ê
Ê
---Ê
Do you know why lawyers never get bit by Rattlesnakes?Ê
Ê
Professional courtesy.
